Some world-renowned injection molding machine companies, such as German Demark, Krupp, Badenfeld, and Sumitomo Heavy Industries, have successively entered China, and some have further established technology centers. The entry of foreign injection molding machine manufacturers has brought vitality to the development of China's injection molding machine industry, while also filling Chinese injection molding machine manufacturing enterprises with opportunities and challenges.

In the development process of China's injection molding machine industry, it has always followed the traditional route. Early injection molding machines were all fully hydraulic. Due to the needs of environmental protection and energy conservation, as well as the mature application of servo motors and a significant decrease in prices, there have been more and more precision injection molding machines that are fully electric in recent years. According to statistics in 2001, China imported injection molding machines using foreign exchange of 1.12 billion US dollars, while exporting injection molding machines earned only 130 million US dollars, with imports far exceeding exports.

At present, China's injection molding machine products are mainly concentrated in general small and medium-sized equipment. In the 1980s and 1990s, the supply of low-end products exceeded demand, resulting in excess mechanical manufacturing capacity and a decline in enterprise efficiency. Some varieties, especially ultra precision large high-end products, are still blank and still need to be imported. The injection molding industry is facing a rapid development opportunity, but in the cost composition of injection molding products, electricity accounts for a considerable proportion. According to the demand of vertical injection molding machine equipment technology, the power consumption of vertical injection molding machine oil pump motors accounts for as high as 50%~65% of the entire equipment power consumption. Therefore, designing and manufacturing a new generation of "energy-saving" vertical injection molding machines has become an urgent issue that needs to be paid attention to and solved.
